History teaches us that we don’t learn our lessons. Years ago, i received a free SD card reader together with some other Taobao product i purchased. All was well until i tried to move a large amount of data using the SD card reader. The SD card was actually physically damaged. I threw the darn SD card reader away and bought a cheap replacement, something that cost around S$2.
History just repeated itself and I binned the SD card reader again. Moving a large amount of data using a cheap SD card reader just won’t do. Coincidentally, i needed a USB-C OTG SD card reader for my new phone, so i looked up Taobao for a reputable product, and ended up with the UGreen USB-C/USB-A Card Reader.
A sound mixer is one of those gadgets you’d imagine to cost a bomb. Well, not anymore, when you can find them on Taobao. I would presume not many people need a sound mixer for use in a home setting, and the two use cases i can think of are music production and hosting of events. My use case is the latter.
This was my 3rd visit to Bukit Gambir, and this time, i went to the restaurant 侨興 that was marked on Google maps. There must be a good reason for a restaurant to be highlighted in Google Maps, especially when it shows up at low zoom levels. True enough, 侨興 is one of the few restaurants has been around for ages in Bukit Gambir.
Anova sells the stasher silicone bag for S$28. Way too expensive. Unfortunately, you can’t find the exact same product on Taobao, yet. The closest alternative i found is this one meant for kneading dough, costing only 13.5 Yuan (S$2.70).
I’m taking it for a spin on a Pork Collar slab. The medium sized bag is perfect. I might buy the small sized bag as well in the future, for smaller cuts of pork or beef.
Not much to say on this one, except, well, it works. Don’t expect a very refined product for 13.6 Yuan (S$2.7 plus shipping), but no complaints for this price. If you did a search on Taobao (硅胶食品夹子), you’ll realize that more than half the sellers are selling the very same product.
I bought these earphones primarily for use with an IEM (In-Ear Monitor) system (on-stage musical jamming). They would work very well when doing sports or during commute or just casual listening. I came across these while looking through earphones sold on Amazon, and there are just so many of them (90% Chinese products)! These ones caught my attention, because one reviewer mentioned he used it for IEM. As usual, you save a bundle when buying from Taobao instead of Amazon. When you use a projector, you invariably encounter one problem – the projector has to be placed far away from your sound system (unless you got the now-still-very-costly short throw projector, which may come bundled with the sound system even).
After the success story of Redmart, new contenders are cropping up every now and then. The new kid on the block is EAMart. Bet you haven’t heard of them. Well, i took notice only because they were the only online grocery store that stocked an item i happen to be Googling about.
So, what is the differentiation they offer? No minimum purchase to get free delivery. But seriously, i wonder how they stop someone from getting free delivery for an order of, say, just S$1. Anyway, I can imagine that, for a significant group of people, especially those who are too busy or simply hate to go to a supermarket, the free delivery is a big deal. It’s not for me, but just for fun, i made a purchase on EAMart 🙂 Here’s my take on EAMart: Continue reading Review of EAMart and Fairprice On
